About me...
I am a freelance strategic communications and engagement consultant, who set up my own boutique consultancy in April 2025.
Prior to this, I worked for 15+ years delivering quality strategic communications and engagement programmes for a range of not-for-profit causes including health, democracy and social justice across the United Nations (UN), UK Government, philanthropy and UK-based charities.

I have an MSc in Strategic Communications Leadership from the University of Huddersfield, dedicating my thesis to developing a model to assess the social return on investment of inclusive funding policies and activities on research.

I am naturally extremely curious and collaborative, and I enjoy connecting people, dots and ideas to make the world that little bit better.
Fluent in Spanish alongside my native English, I am confident to deliver comms and engagement work in both languages.

Outside of work I love the sea and the jungle. I play the flute, pick up a squash racket from time to time, and enjoy an outdoor swim almost all year round.... So, if there's ever a project that could combine any of those, please do get in touch.
I am curiously collaborative
Inherently curious, I want to identify the true challenge faced by your team. Kick-off sessions are used to understand, and if necessary, reframe the problem. Guided by audience insight I'll almost always ask 'who isn't in the room who should be?'
I strive to be a trusted partner for clients big and small, providing bespoke services and support depending on need. My approach is rooted in collaboration from defining the brief to evaluating the impact of the work undertaken.
As a natural connector of ideas and people, I am able to simultaneously align the broad context with the issue at hand. I have experience working with extremely varied groups of people - from refugees to Big Pharma and everything in between.

What is Strategic Communications and Engagement and why should you care about it?
Many people ask me what strategic communications and engagement is and why their organisation needs it.
In short, strategic comms (comms professionals love to shorten communication to comms) and engagement allows an organisation to reach its objectives through ensuring key audiences have appropriate awareness, understanding and willingness to act to support the organisation's goals.
This is achieved by gaining a deep understanding of audience and stakeholder needs through talking to those who care about... or should care about... the issue at hand. This means that both communication and business strategy is built and iterated on a robust understanding of the context it is working in.
An infinity loop is created: listening, iterating, providing information, listening, iterating, providing information...
